International Women's Day is celebrated around the World on March 8th

An equal world is an enabled world. #EachforEqual

St.Michael's  House celebrated throughout the Organisation on the last working day March 6th and over the weekend.

The International Women's Day (IWD)  2020 campaign theme is drawn from a notion of 'Collective Individualism.'

We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society.Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world. We can all choose to be #EachforEqual.

St. Michael's House workforce is 83% female. Our HR policies reflect support for our female staff teams. In January, our Executive Management Team leaders were 6:5 female ratio.

Some of St. Michael's House inspiring female leaders provide advice and suggestions to mark International Women's Day.

IMG_9822As a woman and a mother of two girls, I am proud and honoured to be the CEO of St Michaels house and to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day.  Today is a day to recognise that we stand on the shoulders of others, men and women, and that we must continue to strive for an equitable society and a rights based approach to service delivery.  My advice to this generation is to respect yourself and others, work hard, travel, take chances, recognise  opportunities when they arise and always keep friends and family close. Liz Reynolds CEO , St. Michael's House

Paulo Friere describes education 'as the practice of freedom - the means by which people deal critically and creatively with reality - and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world'. For over 20 years, I have been inspired by the commitment, dedication and courage of the many wonderful women in St. Michael's House that have taken on programmes of education and professional development in order to improve their practice and the services they work in. I encourage all women, no matter their role to continue this great investment for themselves and for continuous service improvement and transformation.Dr. Karen Finnerty, Director Open Training College and Staff Education, Training and Development
‘I am honoured and proud as a woman to be on the Board of St Michael’s House. I am so inspired by the amazing work performed by the women and men in SMH. On this International Women’s Day my advice is to go after what you want by adopting a can-do attitude, continually strive to improve, work hard, be kind to everyone along the way and do it all with a smile!’ Dee Moran, Director, St. Michael's House Board
IMG_9823'In the future there will be no female leaders- there will just be leaders! Until then I am very proud to be one of the 5 female leaders on St. Michael’s House Executive Management Team. International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of female leaders and gives us an opportunity to reflect on the importance of equality and diversity' Elaine Teague, Director of Quality Improvement and Safety Development St. Michael's House
