Link Services

LINK offers Support Services that are dedicated to providing regular social support to both adults and children. This support is provided in small social groups or on an individual basis, depending on the service users needs.

Activities are planned with the children and adults

Out and About in the Community

Activities include:

Cinema, Bowling Shopping, Dining out and going to the Theatre, Zoo wild lights, Chocolate factory , Pantomimes and Concerts.

In House

We utilise eight different buildings in St. Michael's House services for these activities.

Activities include:

Bingo, Chair aerobics and Music sessions to name a few.

Children

We support many children in social group settings in the community. Children would enjoy their time with their friends while at the same time giving their Families a break from the Carer role. This is a rapidly growing area.

  • Children's club -every second Saturday
  • Individualised regular service to seven adults and eight children
  • Halloween, Easter and Summer camps for children.

Our Children's camps cater to approximately 50 children aged 5 to 18 years.

All activities are designed to encourage children to use community based activities as much as possible.

This includes; buses, trains, parks, farms, swimming and play centres.

Adults

We support 150 Adults in social group settings in the community. Adults would enjoy their time with their friends while at the same time giving their often elderly parents a break from a the Carer role.

  • Evening social groups Monday - Thursday
  • Social groups for Adults - every Saturday
  • Individualised regular service to seven adults and eight children.

 Think LINK

We are fundraising for a Main Base/ hub

Link operates in the community and this is our ethos. However, many but not all of the people who use our services have complex needs and behaviours that challenge. Our future forecast is that it can prove difficult to always be community based.

Link would like to develop a centre that is community based. We are seeking to fundraise to rent or build this dream.

Our vision is to offer:

Pre-school sessions, After school clubs, Active age groups , Youth clubs activities.

A base that will cater for different types of groups throughout the day and evening. There is an immediate growing need for this service.
