Company Giving

As a company, you can fund a specific project or programme in our units or schools in an area that will be meaningful to your staff and customers. You can choose to make a one-off charitable donation or provide funding over a number of years.

When you give over a number of years we can plan ahead, helping us achieve sustainable and effective change in our services.

We very gratefully accept once-off donations and are happy to talk to you about our upcoming campaigns that might fit well with your strategic objectives and values.

Depending on your company’s objectives, we can identify potential sponsorship opportunities, aligning our work with your work. Depending on the project, your company can meet the benefactors of the donation and the staff teams involved.

Companies we collaborated with to date include: Starbucks, KPMG, Leisureplex, Codex Office Solutions, and New Ireland Assurances.

Sharing your Company’s Expertise

Can your company directly support our service users services? Can you provide legal, IT, sport, financial advice or solutions for our organisation? We appreciate skills on our Boards, Committees and often Training supports to our adult services. Get in touch and see how your company can give time and experience to our services.

Employee Involvement - Our Time to Volunteer Programme

Your employees can get involved in our Corporate Volunteer Programme. This involves staff donating corporate hours to our services. They perform low labour tasks like gardening or painting in our children and adult units, working alongside our service users to gain an understanding of our work. Employee’s interaction and social inclusion is invaluable to our services. Get involved.

Staff Fundraising

Employee fundraising is a great way to motivate staff and foster team spirit. There are loads of sporting and entertainment events to engage in throughout your local areas.

Payroll Giving

You can get involved by donating from your salary. It’s a simple and effective way to donate as you earn.

Payroll giving is an easy way for employees to donate on a regular basis through payroll deductions. Giving in this way reduces administration overheads for our charity which means that we have more funds to spend on our services.

You can choose how much to give from your salary each month and, together with your colleagues, you can make a massive difference. For example, if you donate €20 a month, you can provide a weekly swimming session for a child or adult in our services.Female service user swimming at St. Michael's House Leisure CentreSMH Swimming Pool

Now, imagine if everyone in your company also gave the same amount! You could provide swimming lessons for a month to an entire Special Needs School! The difference you and your colleagues could make is incredible.

If you are an employer, show your employees that you care about your staff and the wider community by offering payroll giving.

If you are an employee, ask your employer if they will adopt a payroll giving policy to support St. Michael’s House. It’s quick and easy to set up and all modern payroll systems can handle payroll giving.

If you think you and your colleagues might be interested in payroll giving, contact our fundraising team at fundraising@smh.ie or (01) 8840200.

Direct Donations -Donations and Tax

If you are kind enough to donate more than €250 a year (or €21 a month) through your payroll, your donations can have a double impact. Whether you are a self assessed or PAYE tax payer, St. Michael’s House can claim the tax back on your donations – all you have to do is complete a form allowing us to do so.

This increases the value of your donation by 23% without costing you anything extra.
