Over 400 service users took to the lanes of Leisureplex for the annual event.

Each year Leisureplex provides exclusive private use of the bowling alleys at their five centres to St. Michael’s House. Christmas music and festive cheer filled the lanes of Tallaght, Stillorgan, Blanchardstown, Charlestown and Coolock. St. Michael’s House service users got a special visit and gift from Santa Claus. Spot prizes and the Santa gifts were sponsored by Leisureplex.

Sean Kennedy Business Development Manager at Leisureplex said: “We are delighted to support this event every year for the users of St. Michael’s House. Our long standing partnership with St. Michael’s House gives our employees the opportunity to get involved in a very worthy project that makes a real difference. The annual bowling day has become a Christmas tradition and we look forward to continuing this partnership going forward.”

Leisureplex has been a charity partner of St. Michael’s House for over 15 years and last month launched a donation scheme which gives party-goers the option to directly donate to St. Michael’s House through their Leisureplex party. The donation scheme is running in all centres and will continue through 2020.

Barbara Wiseman, Head of Communications and Fundraising, St. Michael’s House commented: “Leisureplex is a very important part of our community recreational activities. Bowling is hugely popular amongst our service users, and the Christmas bowling event is always one of our most well-attended annual events. Bowling provides great interaction for our adults, and over the years our adults have developed great friendships with the staff. We are extremely grateful to Leisureplex and all of their staff who continue to support this great event each year. There is always a great sense of festive cheer and a welcoming atmosphere at this Christmas event.”
