Members of Service User Forum hold first meeting with SMH Management Team in 2026

On the 19th March two members of the St. Michael’s House Service User Forum met with the SMH Executive Management Team to share their stories and experiences, with support from the Service User Engagement and Advocacy team.

JP from Seantrabh, with QQI Coordinator Edel McNamara, used Lámh signs to share the positive impact Total Communication approaches has had in his life. He also spoke about his experience of increasing his knowledge of Lámh through his QQI learning course.

Jenny, from Work Options, made use of a visual storyboard she had created to speak about her experience of moving into a new home, and highlighted the benefit future planning can have in supporting and managing life transitions. She was supported in sharing her story by her keyworker, Nora Murphy.

The St. Michael's House Service User Forums meet throughout the year and play a key role in ensuring the views of the adults who use our services are reflected in policy & future plans, as part of Goal 2 of our 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
