St. Michael's House #Covid-19 update - November 12th

St. Michael' House are working with the HSE and Public Health Services during this Covid-19 Pandemic.

St.Michael's House:

  • are working with HSE on keeping essential Day Services open in Level 5
  • are delighted to be informed from CHO DNCC ( Community Health Organisation, Dublin North City and County ) that the Department of Health has announced the availability of €7.5m in 2020 to support the full resumption of day services for people with disabilities.St. Michael’s House have been allocated the largest amount of posts in CH09:  39 of 67 posts. The posts include ; 22 Health Care Assistants, 17 Social Care Workers and the recruitment process is active.
  • are maintaining the reintroduction of No visitors permitted to St.Michael's House Residential Units
  • Speech and Language Department have produced an Easy to Read Guide on "Safe Visiting" within St. Michael's House
  • are issuing November letters to Families  receiving services on  any service updates. Informing Families that SMH are being guided by the HSE and NPHET for  the safest service delivery in the context Living with Covid-19.
  • have issued October FAQ's for Families
  • have issued new E-learning courses for staff on Covid-19 safety measures and procedures
  • have issued all staff with access to Flu Vaccine information
  • have issued a mandatory Mask wearing process in all SMH buildings at all times for all staff
  • raised and distributed €18,000 through the Devices project to purchase devices for Service users to increase personal connections and digital services where possible.
  • have introduced Browsealoud to our external website ( www.smh.ie) for audio and visual improvements for people with disabilities to access our website more during Covid-19.
  • celebrated International Lámh Day 2020 by showcasing the importance of using Lámh and technology in our services.
  • celebrated Halloween on our Digital Activity Hub with 39  plus service users live online
  • Home Teachers Department have published a new and exciting videos for all our early learners.
