We are holding an Evening Recruitment Event on Thursday 24 September 2026, giving prospective applicants an opportunity to meet with our HR team, find out more about working with St Michael’s House and discuss the range of roles and contracts available.

Depending on demand, on-site interviews may be available during the evening. If an interview cannot take place on the night, you may be invited to interview at a later date.

Flexible contracts
We have a range of full-time and part-time contracts available. Our HR team will be available during the evening to discuss the options and help you find a role that suits your circumstances.
Salary
Successful candidates will be paid in line with the HSE Revised Consolidated June 2026 Social Care Worker Pay Scale, ranging from €41,260 – €57,789 LSI pro rata per annum
The scale is based on a 39-hour working week.
Candidates with no previous public sector experience will normally be placed on Point 1 of the pay scale.

About the role
Social Care Workers support people with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives, with a focus on choice, participation and inclusion in their communities.
The role includes working as part of a team to support people to achieve their individual goals and aspirations.
Essential criteria
Applicants should:
- Have experience in a key working role focused on promoting independence and community integration
- Have experience of working as part of a team
- Have experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be eligible to work in Ireland
Essential qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following, or be in the process of CORU registration:
- QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) – Open Training College
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Care Practice
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Social Care
- Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland
- Be in the process of being CORU registered or fully registered as a Social Care Worker
