St Michael’s House is proud to celebrate World Physiotherapy Day 2026 and recognise the important contribution of our Physiotherapy teams across Children’s and Adult Services.

Our Physiotherapists support people throughout St Michael’s House to be active, develop strength and mobility, maintain independence and take part in activities that are important to them.

The theme for World Physiotherapy Day 2026 focuses on the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Physical activity is important at every age and can support physical health, wellbeing, independence and participation. Our Physiotherapy teams work with people to find ways of being active that are appropriate to their needs, abilities and goals.

As part of our World Physiotherapy Day celebrations, we are also sharing an activity sheet on why being active is important at all ages. This resource provides information and ideas that can be shared with the people we support, families and colleagues.

Thank you to our Physiotherapy teams

World Physiotherapy Day is an opportunity to recognise the knowledge, skills and commitment of our Physiotherapy staff.

Their work makes an important contribution to the health, wellbeing and quality of life of the people we support.

Thank you to all our Physiotherapists for the difference you make every day.

At St Michael’s House, Valuing and Investing in Staff is one of our key priorities, and we are proud to recognise the important contribution of our Physiotherapy teams.
