St. Michael’s House is taking steps to support biodiversity and sustainability through a new Green Team initiative focused on creating bee-friendly spaces across our services.
As part of our ongoing sustainability programme, the St. Michael’s House Green Team is working with teams across HQ locations, day services and residential services to identify areas of our grounds that can support bees and other pollinators.
By carving out small spaces within our green areas, allowing some sections to grow more naturally and encouraging pollinator-friendly planting, we are creating welcoming environments for local wildlife while enhancing the natural spaces around our services.
Bees and other pollinators play an important role in our ecosystem, and even small changes can have a positive impact. Creating these spaces helps promote biodiversity, supports environmental awareness and contributes to a greener and more sustainable St. Michael’s House community.
This initiative is part of our wider commitment to sustainability and creating environments that benefit the people we support, our staff and the communities around us.
We would like to thank the Green Team and all staff involved in helping to make our grounds more environmentally friendly and supporting positive change across St. Michael’s House.
