St Michael’s House was delighted to welcome Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley, and HSE Head of Disabilities for Dublin North City and County, Olive Hanley, to our Ballymun HQ yesterday.

The visit provided an important opportunity for open and constructive discussion on the current landscape of disability services, including the challenges and opportunities facing people with disabilities, families and service providers.

St Michael’s House Interim CEO, Tara Molloy, welcomed the opportunity to discuss the priorities for the sector and the importance of continued collaboration between disability organisations, government and the HSE to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services.

As part of the visit, Minister Foley and Ms Hanley toured the Ballymun campus, including visits to Solas Day Service and our Glens residential services. The tour provided an opportunity to see first-hand the commitment, expertise and dedication of staff in supporting people across St Michael’s House every day.

This engagement supports the ongoing work of St Michael’s House in delivering against Goal 4 of our Strategic Plan, working collaboratively and strengthening partnerships to influence positive change and improve outcomes for the people we support.

Tara Molloy said,

“We were delighted to welcome Minister Foley and Olive Hanley to St Michael’s House. Meaningful conversations and strong partnerships are essential as we work together to address the evolving needs of disability services and ensure people with disabilities continue to have access to the supports and opportunities they need.”

We thank Minister Foley and Olive Hanley for taking the time to visit us and for their commitment to engaging with the disability sector. We look forward to continuing to work together with our partners to build a more inclusive future for the people we support, their families and our communities.
