Staff from our day and residential services recently took part in the fourth Keep My Teeth oral health “train the trainer” course at our Ballymun Headquarters, delivered by the Keep My Teeth project team.
This important initiative focuses on improving oral health outcomes for adults with intellectual disabilities, an area that is essential to overall health, wellbeing and quality of life. Through this training, staff are now equipped to share knowledge and promote best practice across our services, supporting improved outcomes for the people we support.
Keep My Teeth is a research and training initiative developed by Trinity College Dublin, the Dublin Dental Hospital and the National Federation of Voluntary Service Providers. The project is currently being trialled in St. Michael’s House, with the aim of a national rollout following evaluation.
We would like to sincerely thank the Keep My Teeth team, Dr. Caoimhín Mac Giolla Phádraig, Pedro Kammer (Trinity College Dublin) and Sarah Armitage (FEDVOL), for their partnership on the project and for delivering such a valuable programme to our staff.
