Today is Safer Internet Day and this year’s theme is “AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control”.
Safer Internet Day is an EU-wide initiative that is coordinated in Ireland by the Irish Internet Awareness Centre (Webwise) and Oide Technology in Education under the Department of Education and Skills, and in partnership with ISPPC’s Childline, Hotline.ie and the National Parent's Council (NPC).
Easy Read Guidelines on AI Safety
St. Michael's House is committed to empowering people across our services to safely navigate the digital world, ensuring everyone has the tools to achieve their goals and fully participate in society.
To mark the day, the SMH Activity Hub team have created an Easy Read document about AI and AI Safety - which you can access at: www.smh.ie/activityhub.
Along with the Easy Read guidelines there is also a fun quiz where you can guess which picture is real and which is AI generated.
A big thank you to the Activity Hub team for these guides, and their ongoing work in providing easy-to-access online courses, activities and information for everyone who uses our services.
