We are delighted to celebrate a recent achievement by Daniel, who recently spoke to a class of Social Care students in Coláiste Dhúlaigh.

Daniel shared his journey within St. Michael’s House, highlighting how engaging with the person-centred planning process has supported him to identify and achieve his personal goals. His insights provided students with a unique perspective on the importance of voice, choice, and empowerment in social care.

His presentation was so impactful that the college has invited Daniel to return as a paid guest lecturer, recognising the value of his lived experience and contribution to learning. Daniel is rightly proud of this achievement, with the income supporting his own goals and aspirations.

We extend our sincere thanks to the team at Coláiste Dhúlaigh for welcoming Daniel and for recognising the importance of lived experience in social care education.

This achievement is a fantastic example of how person-centred approaches can create meaningful opportunities for learners, while inspiring the next generation of social care professionals.
