St. Michael’s House is proud to mark National Adult Safeguarding Day 2025, part of the broader Safeguarding Adults Week, a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness about protecting vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Throughout this week, organisations across the country have come together to highlight safeguarding issues and share information on how to recognise and respond to concerns, helping to create safer services and communities for everyone.
This year’s theme focuses on Rights and Strengthening Understanding and Implementation of Assisted Decision-Making in services and communities. This aligns closely with St. Michael’s House Strategic Goals:
Goal 1: Building a rights-based service
Goal 2: Supporting the participation of service users in decisions that affect their lives
Following on from last year’s successful “What is Safeguarding?” video, written, starred in, and produced by adults who attend St. Michael’s House, we are delighted to share a series of Safeguarding Shorts.
These short videos highlight different types of abuse, including financial, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and explain how they can appear in real-life situations.
