QQI Graduates

St. Michael’s House proudly hosted its annual QQI Graduation Ceremony in June 2025, celebrating the remarkable achievements of 47 learners who completed accredited training programmes on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). The event was attended by St. Michael’s House CEO Liz Reynolds, with awards formally conferred by Dr. Karen Finnerty, Director of Open Training College.

This inspiring occasion recognised the dedication, hard work, and progress of learners from SMH day services including, Templeogue, Goatstown Services, Turas, Rogha, Saoirse Hub, Ophaly Lodge, and Leinster Road. A total of 89 portfolios were submitted for assessment, showcasing a wide range of modules that promote personal development, independence, and active citizenship.

“Lifelong learning is a core value at St. Michael’s House. We are committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities and supporting individuals in achieving accredited awards that empower them toward greater independence and inclusion in community life,” said Liz Reynolds, CEO.

Key Highlights from the 2025 Graduation Ceremony:

  • 47 learners received QQI awards, with several individuals earning more than one.

  • 14 individuals achieved a Major Award at Level 2, which requires the successful completion of six QQI modules.

  • 15 individuals received a Minor Award at Level 3, the first time St. Michael’s House has conferred Level 3 awards. These were part of our Active Citizenship Programme, which includes Community Participation, Advocacy, and Work Experience.

  • Modules undertaken this year included: Looking Good, Listening and Speaking, Music, Know Your Money, Using Technology, Relaxation, Personal Decision Making, Community Participation, and Self-Advocacy.

  • The Community Participation module was delivered in Terenure Enterprise Centre, and we look forward to expanding our use of this venue for future educational programmes.

We are especially excited to announce the introduction of new Level 2 awards in the coming months, including modules such as ‘Craft’ and ‘Learning About Research’, further enhancing the breadth of learning opportunities available to individuals we support.

St Michael's House staff across all services have worked tirelessly to deliver inclusive, high-quality education, aligned with national standards. QQI’s external examiner praised the quality of the portfolios submitted, highlighting the breadth and depth of learning experiences and the strong focus on community engagement and personal development.

We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated trainers, PICS, Service Managers, Programme Design Teams, families, and most importantly, the learners themselves, who showed tremendous commitment and enthusiasm throughout their learning journeys.

Congratulations to all graduates on your outstanding achievements!
