St. Michael’s House is proud to highlight the achievements of Sarah, a participant in our WorkAbility Programme, who recently completed a highly successful four-week work experience placement at Kavanagh’s Pub in Marino.
Throughout her placement, Sarah confidently embraced a wide range of responsibilities, from preparing food and cleaning to stacking shelves, collecting bottles, and assisting in daily operations. Her willingness to engage in new tasks and her positive attitude made her a valuable member of the Kavanagh’s team.
Suzanne Kavanagh, Manager of Kavanagh’s Pub, shared her appreciation:
“It’s been a real pleasure having Sarah with us. She brought such wonderful energy and genuinely enjoyed her time here. She’s a truly sweet and lovely young lady who got on so well with the whole team.”
Sarah consistently demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism. She approached every day with a bright smile, a strong work ethic, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Her placement not only enhanced her skill set but also showcased her ability to work collaboratively and contribute meaningfully to a busy hospitality environment.
We extend our sincere thanks to Suzanne and all the staff at Kavanagh’s Pub for providing a supportive and inclusive environment, and to Angela, Sarah’s key worker, whose encouragement and guidance played an essential role in the success of this placement.
At St. Michael’s House, we believe that inclusive employment opportunities are key to building confidence, independence, and community engagement. Sarah’s journey is a testament to the power of partnership, support, and belief in each person’s potential.
