St Michael's House Northbrook were delighted to receive a cheque of €4,361 yesterday (13 December) from The Monday Club in memory of the wonderful Joan Duffy who sadly passed away recently.

The Monday Club was originally set up in the 1970's by the Holy Faith Sisters in Whitehall, Dublin 9 to provide a respite for children with disabilities.   The club was a very welcome resource for families in the north Dublin area, particularly for families in the St Michael's House community.  From its inception, Joan was a very popular volunteer and eventually took over the running of the club in the 1980's spearheading a safe, fun and creative space for people with disabilities.

Northbrook day service, located in Santry, were delighted to host club volunteers, Brendan and Carmel, yesterday where they reconnected with past members of The Monday Club and reminisced about their time there.

On behalf of St Michael's House, we say thank you to Joan and all at the Monday Club for their wonderful donation to our services.
