AWS, Amazon Web Services kicks off our Time to Volunteer Programme 2019

We welcomed a team from AWS, Amazon Web Services Ireland , Dublin to our Castle training service in Coolock. The -AWS In Communities- kicked off our Time to Volunteer Corporate Volunteer Programme 2019.

The St. Michaels House team have planned with AWS for several weeks in planning a transformation of the unused external space around the training unit.

IMG_5521AWS worked with their partners and business relationships and linked with Collins Construction to support the initiative.

The crew worked on preparation work to clear the area for the laying of an accessible path. The path will wrap around the building and provide a safe footing space and wheelchair access for all adults with limited mobility to access all areas .

Today, March 27th, the AWS staff teams arrived to create a sensory garden within the area. The sensory garden will appeal to the senses of taste, touch, smell, sight and sound by planting colourful, herbal textured plants as well as vegetable patches and stone features.

We are delighted to be the chosen charity partner for this AWS in Communities initiative.

Thank you to Karl Fagan, Ray Doyle and all the team from Amazon Web Services for this wonderful - Time to Volunteer - corporate volunteer project for our services.
