IFMS
About IFMS and St. Michael’s House
St. Michael’s House is introducing a new finance and procurement system called IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System). This is part of a wider project across the health sector, within the HSE's Finance Reform Programme, to modernise how organisations manage finances and purchasing.
IFMS will bring in updated technology and improve how we manage our financial and procurement processes. It will also support better reporting, helping us make more informed decisions about how we use our resources.
The system will go live on 1st August 2026.
What IFMS will improve
IFMS will introduce a number of important improvements for St. Michael’s House, including:
- More consistent processes | Standard, best-practice approaches to finance and procurement across the organisation
- New ways of working | Updated processes that support greater efficiency and clarity
- Shared services | A centralised approach to managing finance activities
- Less manual work | Reduced paperwork and fewer manual processes
- Faster processing |Quicker handling of financial transactions and reporting
- Better information | Clearer, more detailed financial reports to support decision-making
Overall, IFMS will support St. Michael’s House to work more efficiently, improve transparency and ensure we are making the best use of resources to support our services for children and adults with disabilities.
