St. Michael’s House Home Sharing is looking for caring and supportive people who may be interested in becoming a Home Sharing Family.

Home Sharing gives children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy short breaks, try new activities, build friendships and develop meaningful connections in a welcoming home environment.

A Home Sharing Family can be an individual, couple or family. The support provided can range from a day break to an overnight stay, depending on what works for everyone involved.

You don’t need previous experience

You don’t need to have previous experience of supporting someone with a disability. What matters is that you are caring, patient and willing to support someone to enjoy new experiences and be part of your home and community.

The Home Sharing Team provides training and ongoing support to Home Sharing Families.

Home Sharing can benefit everyone

Home Sharing can provide:

  • People supported with opportunities to build friendships, try new activities and develop independence.
  • Families and carers with time to rest and recharge.
  • Home Sharing Families with the opportunity to build new skills, make connections and make a positive difference in someone’s life.

Could you be a Home Sharing Family?

You might be surprised who could be a great fit for Home Sharing. It could be you, a friend, family member, neighbour or someone in your wider community.

Please help us spread the word. Share our Home Sharing social media posts with your friends, family and networks. Your share could help us reach someone who would be interested in becoming part of the programme.
