Become a Home Sharing Host Family - a little bit of your time will make a big difference

Home sharing is where people like you in the community are recruited, assessed, trained and supported to provide short breaks in their home for children or adults with a disability. The frequency of breaks depends on your availability; some host families provide day care breaks and others provide a short weekend break every month whilst others might provide breaks over holiday periods.

St. Michael's House Home Sharing Team welcome everyone to apply whether you are in a relationship or single, young or old, with or without children, from all walks of life and living in all kinds of housing.

You do not need a qualification; You do need to be caring, energetic and enthusiastic!

Due to Covid 19, Home Sharing has limited the amount of home visits necessary for the application process. We are remaining thorough but now do 1-2 visits to your family home to start, with the rest of our assessments done via telephone. We are pushing forward and still appealing for new families to come and help make a difference. Home Visits are all subject to COVID 19 Government Restrictions
