We are delighted to celebrate the success of the HSE Assisted Decision-Making (ADM) Mentorship Programme, which recently received the Best Coaching or Mentoring Initiative award at the Learning & Development Institute Awards.
Now in its third year, the programme supports healthcare professionals in understanding and applying the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, helping staff navigate the legal, ethical and practical considerations associated with this important legislation.
We are especially proud of Roisin O'Neill, Safety & Risk Manager, who plays a key role in the programme. Through peer mentoring and shared learning, the initiative provides staff with ongoing support and guidance as they implement the principles of assisted decision-making in practice.

The award recognises the value of creating opportunities for professionals to learn from one another, build confidence, and develop the knowledge needed to support individuals in exercising their rights, will and preferences.
The programme strongly reflects St. Michael's House's commitment to a rights-based approach, ensuring that people are supported to make choices, have their voices heard, and participate as fully as possible in decisions that affect their lives.
It also aligns with our strategic goals of supporting excellence in practice, investing in staff development, and promoting person-centred services that uphold the dignity, autonomy and rights of the people we support.
Congratulations to Roisin and everyone involved in this outstanding initiative and well-deserved recognition.
