A group of St. Michael’s House WorkAbility participants recently completed Manual Handling Training across two sessions in August 2026.
The training focused on developing practical skills that can support participants in the workplace, including safe manual handling, back care and workplace health and safety.
The sessions combined theory with practical, hands-on activities, giving participants the opportunity to build their knowledge, practise new skills and learn from each other.
The training was delivered by Eleanor Smith, Alfredo Rodriguez and Paula Devlin. John Byrne from Green Street Hub also supported the sessions through Lámh, helping to make the training accessible and inclusive for all participants. Peer-to-peer learning is an important part of WorkAbility training, giving people the opportunity to share their knowledge, experiences and skills.
The training is part of WorkAbility’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities to develop skills, confidence and experience to prepare for and progress in employment.
