St. Michael’s House recently held two Person Centred Planning (PCP) Showcases, bringing together people supported, staff, families and supporters to celebrate the work being done to support people to live the lives they choose.

The showcases took place at Ballymun HQ and Goatstown HQ, where adults supported by St. Michael’s House shared their Person Centred Planning work, including All About Me profiles, My Life Meetings, goal tracking, personal goals and achievements, along with many other examples of their individual journeys.

The events provided an opportunity for people to learn from each other, share ideas and celebrate the progress and achievements of people supported across St. Michael’s House.

Person Centred Planning is about listening to what matters to each person, understanding their hopes and aspirations, and supporting them to make choices about their own lives. It is an important part of our rights-based approach and reflects our commitment to “My Life, My Rights, My Choices.”

The showcases also reflect two key priorities in the St. Michael’s House Strategic Plan:

  • Strategic Goal 1 – Rights-Based Service | supporting people to know and exercise their rights and have choice and control in their lives.
  • Strategic Goal 2 – Participation of People Supported and Families/Supporters | ensuring people are actively involved in planning their lives and that their families and supporters are part of the process.

A sincere thank you to Lorna Hughes, PCP Coordinator, the PCP team, Mark and Ciara, and the Quality, Safety and Risk team for organising the showcases and supporting the Person Centred Planning process across St. Michael’s House.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who took part and shared their goals, achievements, hopes and plans, and to the staff, families and supporters who came along to listen, learn and celebrate with them.
