St Michael's House celebrated World Autism Awareness Day 2023 on Sunday 2nd April.

With the support of the SMH Management Team, Eoin Keating (Service Manager), Jill Mulholland (PIC - Abhainn Outreach/Finglas) and their event committee hosted a large-scale ASD Fun Day in Ballymun HQ.

Over 40 people who avail of SMH Abhainn services attended and many brought their families. The family aspect to the day was something that was so important for those tasked with organising the day and the feedback from those families who attended was extremely positive.  The event was attended by SMH staff who were delighted to be part of the occasion and most importantly seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of the service users and their families that are supported by Abhainn Services.

Activities included a silent disco, football coaching with the FAI and Bohemian FC, arts and crafts, sensory play, relaxation, games and technology, bouncy castles, sensory yoga and much more.

Special thank you to Chris Shelley Photographer who documented the fun-filled celebratory day.  Check out all photographs here.

St Michael's House would like to take this opportunity to thank all supporters who provided their services to ensure the day was a phenonemal success;

Special mention to Diarmuid O’ Donovan (PIC - Abhainn Swords) for providing his vision, time (and catering abilities!) and who went beyond all reasonable expectation in making the day a huge success.

A special thank you to Jill Mulholland, Eoin Keating and their team for creating and hosting an amazing event to celebrate World Autism Awareness in St Michael's House.
