9th December - CEO Update: Covid19 Vaccination Boosters

Issued 9 December 2021

Covid Booster Update

St. Michael’s House CEO Liz Reynolds has written to families today (9th December) with an update on Covid19 and our services.  Included in this letter is an update on the vaccination programme.

A booster dose of an mRNA vaccine has been approved nationally for all individuals in Long Term Residential Care Facilities ages 16 and older. All residents in this age group are now eligible and we will work with the HSE locally to manage these clinics when advised.

The following groups will now also be included in the booster vaccination campaign:

  • Cohort 4 – All people with Down Syndrome
  • Cohort 7 – All people with any other intellectual disability

Please be advised that St. Michael’s House is not a vaccination centre. Earlier this year, St. Michael’s House supported the HSE by facilitating vaccination hubs. We have offered this again for booster vaccination but we are yet to receive confirmed dates for this facility.
