The COVID vaccination programme is well underway within St. Michael’s House for service users and staff. We started vaccinating service users in St Michael’s House in March and our first service user to receive the vaccination was Rita from Elmwood.

We have been fortunate to be able to use our Ballymun and Coolock clinics to give the vaccinations. St Michael’s House facilitated these HSE run hubs.

It was a big exercise for everyone, a great team effort and there were so many people involved from traffic management through to the wonderful staff in the coffee dock who kept us all going with drinks and treats as well as the many staff who supported these clinics! There was a party atmosphere on many occasions and it was an emotional time for many too!

We are delighted to say that as of 1st July 2021, there are now 88% of staff and 93% of service users fully vaccinated.

A sense of relief and the hope to be able to return to some degree of normality was clear to see.
