St. Michael's House Fast Friends are holding a Valentines Event on Friday 14th February from 6pm to 10pm in the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport. See attached flyer for details.
Background
The aim of Fast Friends is to provide a platform where the people who use our services can meet new people in a structured but fun way. The Fast Friends format pairs people up for brief chats (3 - 4 minutes) and then assigns new pairings for everybody for the next chat. Over the course of an evening, people meet at least five new people. There is then a chance for people to mingle and maybe have a dance. If people feel that they have met someone they would like to see again, they are facilitated to exchange contact details.
- Since April 2018, we have held six Fast Friends events. These included a big fancy dress Halloween party, Christmas-themed Snow Ball and two "Speed Dating" events. A number of successful friendships have been formed or reignited through Fast Friends so far. We have also had several people who met through Fast Friends, who have later gone on dates together! In September 2019, we invited people who use other disability service to attend and this was hugely successful.
- The next Fast Friends event is the Valentine’s Ball, which will take place on Friday 14th February 6 - 10 pm in the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport. Tickets are €10 and can be bought by calling 087 3676658 or 087 1961234.
- There will be a full bar on the night selling refreshments and a DJ to keep the dance floor full!
- Fast Friends is open to people of any ability level who use St Michael's House services (or a similar service provider). The Fast Friends staff are present to support the running of the event. If any person needs staff to support them to engage with the event, these will need to make suitable arrangements.
