Re-issue of Boil Water Notice for Dublin North Units .

A boil water notice has been re-issued for  people living in parts of counties Dublin, Kildare and Meath.

The notice affects approximately 600,000 people supplied by the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant.

This notice covers many of St. Michael's House Units and Schools.

Irish Water says the areas affected include: Artane, Ashtown, Balbriggan, Baldoyle, Ballyboghill, Celbridge, Clonee, Clonsilla, Coolock, Coolquoy, Corduff, Darndale, Donabate, Dunboyne, Finglas, Garristown, Glasnevin, Howth, Kilbarrack, Kilclone, Killester, Kinsaley, Leixlip, Lusk, Malahide, Maynooth, Naul, Palmerstown, Poppintree, Ronanstown, Rush, Skerries, St Margaret's, Straffan, Sutton and Swords.

Due to heavy rain, turbidity (cloudy water due to suspended particles) in the source water for the old Leixlip Plant exceeded acceptable levels. Plant operators reacted quickly before alarms were activated and shut down the old plant to stop this water entering the network.

**** Please BOIL water before use or buy bottled water for all impacted Units and Departments until further notice****

****Please put - Do NOT DRINK WATER -  signs or images over water taps in  impacted Units *****
