St. Michael's House are very grateful to receive an incredible gift of a wheelchair accessible bus from friends in the Swords and District Lions Club this week.

The club presented the bus to St. Michael’s House at a ceremony in Swords Castle on 11th December. The generous donation will put to use at the Swords based Seatown and Oaklands units.

The six seater combi bus will be used to transport local service users and provide further opportunities for them to enjoy local community activities. The presentation by the Swords and District Lions Club is the largest ever donation by the club since the branch was founded in 1985. The money was raised through various initiatives including the annual golf classic and the annual music gala in Swords Castle.

The Lions Club are an integral part of the community in Swords and surrounding areas, fundraising for those in need and supporting local, national and international initiatives and projects, including: Christmas food appeal, suicide awareness and prevention programmes, fundraising for senior citizen’s holidays and the used spectacle appeal programme for third world countries.
