On the 11th and 14th of June 2009, the Sunday Independent and Irish Independent published a photograph depicting "survivors of institutional abuse." The caption read that one of the survivors attended St. Michael's, Ballymun. As we were concerned that readers could wrongly identify St. Michael's House as being the organisation referred to, we requested both papers to make a clarification, which they duly did:
"In the edition of the Irish Independent of June 11, 2009, in the coverage of the aftermath of the Ryan Report, reference was made to "St. Michael's, Ballymun". We are happy to clarify that this reference has no connection with another organisation, St Michael's House, which is headquartered in Ballymun. St Michael's House is Ireland's largest provider of community-based services for adults and children with an intellectual disability and provides services to 1,500 service users and their families."
