St Michaels House School Programme 2016

  • St Michaels House School Programme 2016

Primary and Secondary schools are so important to St. Michaels House Fundraising Department.  Over the years, schools have helped us to raise vital funds for educational and medical equipment, wheelchair accessible buses, the refurbishment of our residential houses and schools for our adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

There are a number of benefits for your School being involved with St. Michaels House.

    • An education and involvement on intellectual disabilities
    • A classroom involvement in social inclusion
    • The school can support a local charity in their local community.

Ways to get involved include our Bring a Book, Buy a Book event.  Primary and Secondary schools can participate in our Bring a Book , Buy a Book campaign each March. This is an educational project promoting reading for all while raising funds for a good cause. We work in conjunction with World Book Day and Children’s Books Ireland.

Raise money for your school with us!

We understand it is difficult for schools to raise funds to support their school libraries so St. Michael's House will split the funds with your school. 50/50 split when participating in our book campaign.

Primary schools can dress up as their favourite book characters and swap their favourite stories.

Secondary schools can participate in our Transition Mission project. The campaign provides an educational project for your transition year students. Applications are being accepted from October 2016.

Please contact Fundraising Department to find out more details and how to sign up.

    Schools Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome transition year students to visit one of our 170 Units in Dublin City and County for a morning or afternoon to perform some gardening/ tidy up or painting tasks.  Your students will work alongside our service user adults and/or children on their volunteering day. A donation is required for these days to take place.  Our school volunteer programme leaflet is currently being designed but we can answer all your questions from the office.
