Three Regional Parent & Family Councils have been formed for the period of 2010-2013. All parents and family members were invited to put themselves forward for election as council members. The size and structure of each Regional Council is based on the overall number of service users in the region, with each service being proportionally represented, i.e. Children’s services (under 5 years), Services for Children and Adolescents (5-18 years), Adult Day Services and Adult Residential Services.
The purpose of the Parent & Family Councils is to ensure that parents and family members continue to have an input into the planning and development of services in the context of an expanding organisation.
As the number of people putting themselves forward for the Parent & Family Councils didn’t exceed the number of places, it was not necessary to hold elections and all the candidates secured a place.
