"It's important to live independently. It is a great opportunity to be out in the world and do anything you want, like more cooking, your own shopping and paying your own bills. It is nice to share with a friend and socialise in the community." Ciara MacNeill

Through our Independent Living Programme, St. Michael's House supports adults to make a home for themselves in their community. To make this possible, we have either secured apartments under the Government's "Social and Affordable Housing Scheme" or built them ourselves. Residents receive regular support and training in home-making skills.

Recently a number couples have applied to the programme and have been supported to secure their first home together.
